How to send photographs and scanning information

Scan and Email your photographs

Free Estimates & Image Requirements
I provide free estimates! For full restorations, please send a low-compression JPEG file (1 MB–5 MB) or an image with at least 3000 pixels on its longest side.

If you’re unsure about the format or resolution, feel free to contact Phil Anderson for guidance.

Slide Scanning
Slides are scanned at, 2400 dpi by default. If you need a higher resolution, just let me know.

Posting Your Photographs to Photo Fantastic Restorations

What to Include

  • Your Name & Contact Details – Include your name, email, and phone number inside the package.
  • Return Address – Clearly write your return address in case we need to send your originals back.
  • Image Requirements – If sending digital files, provide a low-compression JPEG (1MB–5MB) or an image with at least 3000 pixels on the longest side.
  • Special Instructions – If you have specific requests, include a note detailing any restoration preferences.

Keep your file size under 20MB and aim for at least 600 DPI, or ensure the image is at least 3000 pixels on its longest side.

How to Package Your Photos Safely

  • Use a Sturdy Envelope or Box – Avoid regular paper envelopes, as they can bend or tear easily.
  • Protect with Cardboard – Place your photos between two pieces of rigid cardboard to prevent bending.
  • Seal in a Waterproof Bag – Use a plastic sleeve or zip-lock bag to protect against moisture.
  • Label Clearly – Mark the envelope “Do Not Bend – Photographs Inside” to ensure careful handling

  • Recommended Services – Use a tracked and insured postal service for extra security.
  • Digital Upload Option – If preferred, you can send high-quality scanned images via email or file transfer. Contact Phil Anderson for guidance on the best digital format.

Restoration Process & Approval

  • Turnaround Time: Restorations are usually completed within one week from the date you approve the quote.
  • Preview Before Payment: A watermarked, low-resolution preview will be emailed to you for approval before any payment is required.
  • Satisfaction Guaranteed: If you’re not happy with the results, I will make the necessary adjustments or return your original print.

📦    Return Option – If you include return postage, your original print will be sent back at no cost to you.
